This Fact sheet deals with the risk of exposure to fungi (for instance molds), a group of biological agents commonly available in indoor working environments. Fungi grow in presence of humidity and can contaminate the atmosphere through different sources, for example furniture and air treatment systems. Here, besides sources and health effect of exposure, some measures for preventing and managing the risk are briefly described.
