This booklet is dedicated to the operators of  plants for:

• treatment of Municipal Waste;
• final storage of waste (landfills).

After a careful description of the main occupational risks, the booklet shows the appropriate preventive and protective systems, and then suggests actions for the improvement of working conditions.
Furthermore, you can find some summarizing “sheets”, about the following risks:

• exposure to biological agents;
• exposure to chemical agents (dust and dangerous substances);
• exposure to noise;
• microclimate and physical strain;
• accidents due to machines and workplaces;
• fire and explosion.

At the end, an Appendix illustrates the methods for assessing chemical, physical and biological risks.
