In the world of machines, safeguards are of crucial importance. But what happens when these safety devices themselves become a problem? The new explanatory film is aimed at manufacturers of machines and systems and highlights the challenges associated with defeated safeguards.

The Prevention Forum will once again place the organisational focus on the numerous national working groups. An international seminar and the conference of the Society for Safety Sciences round off the programme.

Suva's website "Physical stress and ergonomics" focuses on the prevention of risks arising from physical stress in the workplace.

It points out the importance of ergonomics in preventing injuries and occupational illnesses.

It offers practical recommendations for improving working conditions: Design of the workplace, training of employees in ergonomic best practices (postures, ...), use of aids for handling loads and work organisation.

Explosions can be impressive - but they can have devastating consequences. How can we prevent them with suitable, simple protective measures? A new video series shows in an impressive and instructive way that it is important to understand interrelationships.

The toolmaker „Hammer and Chisel“ is a medium-sized enterprise with 20 employees at two production sites. In two-shift operation, they produce prototype and series tools, among other things. Its machinery includes various machines, mostly connected to the company‘s own network. The machines can even be monitored across locations via the internet.

The terms "technical tightness" and "permanently technical tightness" with their underlying conceptual ideas have proven themselves for decades in occupational safety and health for the assessment of explosion hazards (and gas hazards) and the necessary protective measures. The joint working group of the Prevention Sections Chemistry and Machine and System Safety presents an internationally referencable document on technical tightness, which can be referred to after the terms in DIN EN 1127-1 have been omitted.

The leaflet is aimed at prevention specialists and employers. It contains all the basics necessary for the ergonomic design of work and workplaces.
