Working with Video Display Units (VDUs), especially for a long time, may cause troubles affecting mainly musculoskeletal apparatus and eyesight, or mental strain. However, it is possible to prevent this kind of trouble by applying some good practices (including relaxing exercises). This booklet is helpful either for workers regularly using VDUs or for employers who must inform and train employees about the hazards to which they can be exposed, the right layout of workstations and the proper use of equipment. The booklet, besides the most important preventive measures, contains:
- a check list for self-assessing workstations;
- some hints about portable computers;
- major Italian regulations concerning VDUs.
