Migrant workers face greater risks compared to their Italian colleagues when it comes to developing and/or effectively managing hypertension. Migration requires significant cultural adjustments and substantial changes to traditional dietary habits and lifestyles, which are often not favorable.
Many migrant workers, due to a lack of knowledge, including linguistic barriers, also encounter greater difficulty in accessing the services provided by our national healthcare system.
This short brief, developed with the help of two skilled cardiologists and in collaboration with Giada Monami, an expert of the Hypertension Center of our Venice Local Health Unit, aims to provide some guidance on the subject.
